It's been about a month, so what's up?

Twenty Days, Forty Items. Now what?

Hey there, y'all. Happy Tuesday.

It's been about twenty days, give or take, since I started getting everything set up here. I made a blog post then, laying out some expectations, and I figured I might want to do an update on where I'm at in attempting to meet, and maybe exceed, those expectations.

Transfer from Etsy

I'm probably about 98% complete, with a couple of items I need to take some updated photos of. Once those are done, I need to start listing items that I've been making since InConJunction at the beginning of the month. Any way, if there was something you liked on Etsy, you should now be able to find it here.

New Items

I have items awaiting photography from Fate's End, MatMire Makes, and Layers in Green. I've got everything from dice towers to fidget clickers to toilet paper holders that I need to get up on the site, and then I need to start looking at prop kits from Big Fred's Customs and Mystery Maker Studios, as well as what I'm calling the "Cosplay Stunt Props" which are pieces that are printed in filament colors that are close to the actual prop that should be fairly inexpensive and work well as a belt hanger. Finally, I'm working on getting a workspace cleared out that's separate from my "Troxell Builds" workspace, that will allow me to start working on items I don't want covered in dust from sanding body filler.

Current Challenges

Of course, there are always things that will push you behind. I have some replacement pieces coming for my A1 Mini, which I need before I can start making multi-color prints again. I also have new stock for Comic Carnival I need to make. For those who are new to following the shop, Comic Carnival is a comic book shop here in Indianapolis where I sell a decent amount of items on consignment. Some of them are items that are too large to ship, or so small that shipping costs more than the item so I feel bad about putting them on the site. I go in approximately once a quarter, do inventory, get a check, and then a few weeks later I bring in fresh items and restock of popular items, like the mini critter keychains. This does take a bit of work, because the printing times are long, and I also have assembly to do on some items, which can take longer.

On top of that, I've also been working on some commissions. One piece got handed off yesterday, and it was a pair of Evoker pistols from Persona 3. I've also been working with a friend, TikiKitchen Studios, on creating some 3D files of his designs, and that has taken up a lot of my time as well.

Finally, the month of July is just a really rough month. This past month had a lot of four-day work weeks, just because of conventions, anniversaries, birthdays, and other things that aren't as fun. August is when things start going back to normal, though it's also when I have to start looking ahead to vending at VoltCon in October.

Whelp, I got to wrap this up and get to work for the day job. Please remember to take good care of yourselves, and each other.
