Hey there, y'all.
If you're not familiar with me, let me introduce myself. I'm Tony, a late-forties dude who really likes 3D printing cool things, and is also trying to get back into working with leather to make other cool things. With me is my child, Kat, who loves making things out of Perler beads, and is starting to learn how to sew plush toys. We started Troxell's Trading Post in 2023 to help start paying down the debt accrued due to a family issue earlier that year, and we've been having fun with it. We have done a few conventions, we've done some craft shows, and up until this past week, we had an Etsy shop. Well, I don't think I have to go into details why I decided we're jumping, but yeah, we're pulling away from a platform where we just broke 200 sales, and had an almost perfect five star rating (had one four star out of thirty) and starting fresh.
If you're wondering what we are going to be carrying, here's some of the folks I am licensed to sell from, and what they've got:
- Fate's End - Maker of really cool TTRPG accessories such as dice towers and dice vaults. They occasionally make some really neat weird things like a toilet paper holder shaped like a dragon.
- MatMire Makes - I know a lot of people like his articulated critters, but I stick around for his Mini critters. They make some really cool earrings when shrunk down and printed in color!
- Artificer Industries - Another maker of really cool TTRPG accessories, including supplies for painting miniatures, dice vaults with spell counters, and he's starting to release items for Daggerheart!
- Big Fred's Customs - I'm also really into movie props and costumes, and Big Fred's Customs does a lot of cool stuff from many different media properties.
- Mystery Maker Studios - Another fantastic maker of movie prop replicas, including entire armor sets from Star Wars characters.
- UnimatrixRed - If you've seen some of the really cool Star Trek prop replicas on Printables, they're probably from him. He's covering a lot of different phasers, tricorders, communicators, and other gear from all of the different iterations of the series. As an added bonus, he also has some really nice lightsaber models. Many of these will be printed in filament that closely matches the prop colors for what I like to call "Cosplay Stunt Props." More on that later.
Kat's working on some cool stuff, but they're not quite ready to talk about them. I'm also going to try to get leatherworking going again, mainly to try to help "class up" some of the other stuff I'm working on.
I'm hoping to have some stuff up by Friday, July 11th, and then I'm just going to keep going and keep adding until I'm caught up with what I had over on the other place.
I hope you all like what I offer up. I might also start blogging here a bit about how I finish prop kits, in case I decide to start carrying those here, as well.
Anyway, I promise I'm trying really hard not to be one of those types that takes the rendering of a new file, says "I can print this in any color you want!" and then just floods the marketplaces with them. I print what I think is cool, and hope others will think is cool, as well. Every file that I haven't created (and I AM going to start creating by the end of 2025, I STG) is printed from someone I support on Patreon or Ko-Fi and have the license to print their items. If I'm selling it, it means I have the item in hand and can ship it fairly swiftly. Heck, when the kiddo is in school, I can normally have it out the business day after your order and pay for it!
Well, I've got to get off the blog page, and start getting some stuff transferred over from Etsy.
Please remember to take good care of yourselves, and each other.
