Hey there, everyone!
Yesterday was the event at Tinker House Events, and whoo, I wasn't sure it was going to happen. The roads were a mess, the temperatures were below zero most of the day, and I got the load in time mixed up with the start time! Still, despite everything, the handful of vendors that showed up had some really neat stuff (I picked up a sampler pack of Boozy Maple Syrup from Dragonwood across the room from us!), and the folks that showed up were friendly and happy to be there. As a bonus, the Provider Coffee on the first floor had an excellent Peppermint Mocha, and the Geekling thought their bacon, egg, and cheese bagel (hold the pepper jelly) was fantastic. The most popular items we had were the more inexpensive ones, like the fidget clickers and critters. Surprisingly, we did not sell a single dumpster fire, though we did sell many of the fungi clickers, and we're currently out of opossums.
This post also contains your final reminder that, if you're shopping to get something by Christmas, I need your order no later than 6 AM on Wednesday, December 17th. If I get the order by then, I can get it to the post office after I drop the kiddo off at school and before work. Otherwise, I've got a day job, y'all. I can't make multiple trips to the post office every day. Also, please note, this is the deadline by the United States Postal Service. Once it's dropped off, it's out of my hands. By setting this deadline, I'm going off of their promise, so if something shows up late, this is one of the few times I'll say "Don't blame me." Please. I'm doing my best.
Once the shipping date is past, I'm keeping the shop open until around noon Eastern Standard, then I'm shutting down for the remainder of the year for paperwork, rest, and prepping for 2026. If all goes well, the shop will reopen the morning of Monday, January 5th, 2026.
The printers are still down, though parts are on the way. This past week, I realized I had ran the P1P for close to 8,000 hours since fall of 2023 with just standard maintenance, like lubrication and nozzle swaps, so there are obviously things that have worn out. Same with the A1 Mini, with a hair over 3,000 hours since April of 2024 on it. Once they're back up and running, I have some commissions to do before I get things printed for the shop reopening.
Though the shop will be down, I am planning on having blog posts up on the 22nd and the 29th, so keep your eyes open to see what we are planning on doing in 2026.
So, let's see... Christmas shipping deadline, shop closing down, printers getting fixed, upcoming blog posts... I think that's all I have for y'all this week! I've got to get some orders to the post office, get my change drawer money back into checking before bills hit, and get the kiddo to school after a two-hour delay!
If you've read this quick post, are a fantastic and wonderful person, and I appreciate you immensely.
That is going to be it for this week. Remember to shop small if it's within your means, because instead of buying something through Amazon and paying for Bezo's fifth $20K golden toilet, you could instead by helping someone pay down $20K in debt they accrued getting their kiddo out of a bad situation.
Be excellent to yourselves, and each other, and hang in there.
Tony
