Hey there, y’all! Happy Monday!
It’s been about a month, so I figured I’d touch base with you all now that the Trading Post is 100% removed from Etsy, and now 100% over here on Mayhem. This week, I wanted to give an update on a few new pages I have up on the site, as well as mention some new items I have coming down the pike, and also throw out some other support opportunities.
New Pages
If you look over at the sidebar, you’ll notice some new pages under My Links. Here’s a rundown of what those pages are.
- Shipping - A post giving the rundown on how shipping works over here on the new Troxell’s Trading Post. This will tell you how I’ve set up shipping costs, how I ship items, and normally how long you have to wait for an item to be shipped.
- About Us - This is the Troxell’s Trading Post, but who are the Troxell’s? This post gives you an idea of who we are, what we do, and why we’re doing this? Spoiler: It’s not for toys.
- File Licenses List - As you can tell from the tags on all of my items, they are all Licensed Designs. This page lets you know exactly who those folks are, and I also will include information on how you can find their files for yourself, if you have a 3D Printer and would like to make some of these yourself. Hey, I’m trying to participate in a capitalism here, but information shouldn’t be hoarded.
- In The Wild - Where you can find Troxell’s Trading Post in the real world. Upcoming convention and show appearances, along with locations that have some of my items on consignment.
Feel free to look over these if you have any questions. And if you do have any questions, please reach out. I have a feeling the next page will be a Frequently Asked Questions page, but as of yet, I have no questions!
New Products
First off, I’m wrapping up my restock over at Comic Carnival, so I’m able to give the online shop a bit more attention. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen new items that need to go up, everything from brand new dice vaults to new tankards and tomes. I’m also going through my convention stock, and I’m going to start listing up items that I’ve sold at shows, but never really put up on the website. These are items like the articulated critters by MatMire Makes. These are going to be at “clearance” prices, as I try to get some old stuff out to make way for new, since I don’t normally print on demand. Now, with that in mind…
If you visit the Troxell’s Trading Post Linktree page, you’ll see a section called “Items I can print on request.” These are items that, when asked, I should be able to print on demand. I’ve got links for Dice Towers and Trays, Dice Vaults and Jails, Tankards, Tomes, and a bunch of different prop replica kits I should be able to print out. All you need to do is take a look at the page, and then reach out to me and we can discuss filament colors, whether or not you want a dice tower or vault scaled up for a set of custom dice, and what it would take to get a prop printed. Heck, if you’re willing to pay for it, I’m willing to print and finish a prop for you. However, be aware that option is not inexpensive. I’ll go into that more next week.
Either way, keep an eye on the shop, because I'll be doing my best to add at least one new item every evening for the foreseeable future.
Ko-Fi Membership
If you just know the shop, then you might not be aware that I (Tony, the older Troxell) does a lot of prop and costume replication when I'm not working my day job, writing blog posts, or trying to run an online storefront. To help cover those costs, I have a Ko-Fi page with different membership tiers.
- $1 a month is the Toss a Coin to your Builder tier. At this tier, you will get exclusive content. There are projects I’m working on that I’m only posting about over on the Ko-fi page, and this is how you can keep up with that. This will get you updates, and more information than everyone else will get when I wrap the project and put up a public summary blog post.
- $5 is the Talking and Tea Tier. This tier gets you everything at the $1 tier, but it also will involve the occasional giveaway of a 3D printed item. Sometimes it’ll be small, like a piece of jewelry. Other times, it could be one of the TTRPG accessories I make. Every now and then, I might even put up a prop kit, like a phaser or a lightsaber. In addition, I’ll be posting random discount codes, after Mayhem Market gives us the ability to run discounts.
- $15 is The Tier With Physical Rewards. This includes everything in the $1 and $5 tiers, but it also will get you your choice between a set of earrings, or a keychain every month. Most of these will be 3D printed, but that could change as I’m working to learn other jewelry making and leathercrafting techniques.
You can find all of the information over on the Membership page on my Ko-fi.
Email List
Lastly, did you know we had a weekly newsletter? Well, it’s not just for Troxell’s Trading Post, it’s also for general Troxell news and Troxell Builds updates. However, it drops into inboxes every Friday morning with build updates, shop news, and general information on things going on with the family, including what Tony’s currently watching, playing, and reading. If this interests you, visit the Tony Troxell info page and sign up at the bottom. As an added bonus, there are discount codes that are normally better than what I’d offer over on Ko-fi, and those will continue once, again, Mayhem gives us the ability to set them.
All right, that’s enough of a wall of text for this week. Remember, take good care of yourselves and each other, and support small businesses, even if it’s not this one!
